In an intensely fought match that went down to the wire, Catford and Cyphers CC - 4th XI clinched a thrilling victory over Ex Blues CC - 2nd XI by just 3 runs. The game, played at the picturesque Sydenham High School Playing Fields, was a display of tight bowling and resilient batting under pressure.

Catford and Cyphers CC started their innings cautiously. Oliver Gibbs was the top scorer with a well-composed 28 runs off 69 balls, including a couple of boundaries. Keiran Coyne also contributed significantly with 21 runs. The middle order, however, couldn't capitalize on the starts, with Matthew Gray chipping in with a quick 25 from 28 balls. The team struggled to build on the momentum due to regular wickets, thanks mainly to Ex Blues' bowler Andrew Persaud who took an impressive 4 wickets for 15 runs in 8.1 overs. The innings was boosted by a significant number of extras, including 29 wides, which took their total to 141 all out in 39.1 overs.
Chasing a modest target, Ex Blues CC's innings never really got going. Despite a fighting half-century by Kai Nye, who scored 50 from 55 balls, the team struggled against some disciplined bowling from Catford and Cyphers. Jed Hampson was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets for 20 runs in his 7 overs. Critical wickets at crucial moments allowed Catford and Cyphers to keep the pressure on. Ex Blues ended their innings at 138-9 in their allotted 40 overs, falling just short of the target.
